We are so excited that we have officially taken the first step in our adoption journey. We are now one step closer to bringing home our sweet child.
Ironically, we submitted our application on Mother’s Day. We had so many emotions yesterday thinking through this process and all the many facets and circumstances that had to happen or are currently happening in order for us to be parents again. Things like, has our child been born yet? What circumstances is that mom going through or will she go through in order to get to a place where she will make the choice to give up her child? Our hearts ache for her. Having children already we cannot even imagine it. But, we have so much gratitude as well for our child’s birth mom. We are so thankful that she has or will choose life for her child - our child. In a world that is so broken we are so thankful that through things like adoption we get to see a glimpse into God's kingdom. A glimpse of what it looks like for there to be hope where there was no hope. To see a child who was lost be found and brought into a family and given an inheritance. It’s given us such gratitude to Jesus for the Gospel and to Him for displaying the ultimate adoption story.
Our little family is very excited. Annistyn and Norah (our two little girls) don’t understand it all right now but they are excited about another little one coming into our home. Annistyn likes to say that “mama and daddy are flying over the ocean to get our baby from India.” Its sweet to hear her try to articulate what is going to be happening in her own little words. Norah of course just looks at me like, "Huh?" Haha.
Please be praying for us as we start this journey ahead. It will probably be a long one. They say the process from now until we travel to get our child could be 1-2 years. Pray that our hearts would be made ready for everything to come. Pray for our girls Annistyn and Norah and for the transition to come. Pray for us as we fundraise and raise the finances to make this possible. Pray for our Indian child and his or her birth mom.
Our next step in the process is to start our home study. To get things started we need to raise around $4,300. We would be so grateful if you would partner with us in prayer and financially.
